TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 29, 2018) – Pensacola State College knocked off Tallahassee Community College, 9-1, on Thursday in Panhandle Conference baseball action.
Tallahassee (25-14) has dropped the first two games of the series against the Pirates to fall to 3-7 in league play. Pensacola State (18-19) has won three straight overall and now sits at 6-8 in PC action.
Pensacola State scored four runs in the top of the first off Tallahassee starter Brandon Reitz (3-3), who was pulled just four batters in.
The Eagles got their only run of the game in the fourth when Cole Vann led off the inning with a home run.
The Pirates put two runs on the board in the fifth, then added one in the sixth and two in the seventh.
D.J. Wilkinson held the Eagles to just five hits en route to the seven-inning, complete-game victory.
Tucker Rayburn had two of the hits for Tallahassee.
The teams will conclude their four-game series with a doubleheader at Pensacola State on Saturday. Game one begins at 2 p.m. eastern.
