LAKELAND, Fla. – Two big innings was all State College of Florida needed on Friday to hand Tallahassee Community College an 11-3 defeat at the NJCAA Gulf District/FCSAA State Baseball Tournament.
The Manatees sent 11 men to the plate in the fourth and scored seven runs on seven hits.
Then in the bottom of the seventh, State College of Florida put together a rally that eventually sealed the game via the mercy rule.
Tallahassee falls into the loser's bracket and will play the loser of Chipola College and College of Central Florida Saturday in an elimination game.
