TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The end of summer means time for Champions to be crowned in youth athletics.
At the USA Track and Field National Championships last week, Tallahassee Zoom proudly represented the 8-5-0. The program won five National Championships, and 17 All-Americans were named.
"It's absolutely satisfying and gratifying as well that the hard work, the effort, we can show kids, hey, if you put in the work, things can be accomplished," said Leroy Peter, who coaches jumps for the program. "You can definitely reach your goals at attain your goals."
"You have to have hard work to pay off, it has to pay off sometime!" laughed Curtis Williams, who repeated as long jump National Champion, this year in the 15-16 age division. "If you do hard work, if you work everyday, if you are dedicated, it'll pay off sometime."
These are not the program's first National titles, but it is the most they have won at a single event.
