TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - All summer long, Tallahassee-Leon Babe Ruth has fought to make the World Series. Now, not one, but two TLBR teams are headed to the World Series after winning Regionals over the weekend.
2009 was the last time a Tallahassee squad brought it home. The 14's are headed to Texas, and this is a group that finished second at the 13's World Series last summer, and they're ready for redemption.
"They understand our goal and they understand what it takes to get to that goal and continue to work hard to reach that goal," said head coach Mike Harrison. "It's exciting to try to get back to that. I'll never forget that last ride on the dog pile at the World Series in '09. You don't really feel the pressure, you feel the excitement to go do that."
The 14's kick off play Thursday in Texas. The 15's group travels to Washington for the World Series.
