TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - For Tallahassee Community College women's basketball coach Q Bedell, it's been a fun year. The Eagles won the program's first ever National Championship in March and it's been such a journey, Coach Q decided to write about it.
Coming out late next month is Q's book, "From Chumps to Champs." It documents the five year journey from his hire date at TCC to this year's National title run.
It's a project Coach Q has dreamed of for a while, in fact, this was set to be the second of three books he has plans to publish. The timing was perfect to release it now, and he's thankful for all the opportunities that he's been given.
"It's something I've always preached. I'm more than just a basketball coach," he said. "I'm more than just a game. You think of all the other people, John Wooden, you think of all the people that serve as a coach but were more than that. It's a great accomplishment, but it's not over."
TCC will recognize the women's basketball team with a ring ceremony on August the 8th.
