TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Community College softball team didn't wrap up the regular season the way they would have liked. They lost their final three ball games, but even so, the Eagles qualified for the State Tournament.
Tournament play in the double elimination State Tournament kicks off Friday for the Eagles, when they'll face a good Florida Southwestern team.
TCC hasn't played in two weeks, and for head coach Patti Townsend, that break was welcome. She said this group has regrouped, and they're excited to represent on Friday.
"We weren't in the best place mentally, so it was nice to have a break and get back to basics and work on the little things we needed to work on," she said Tuesday. "I like their mentality. They've worked extremely hard and you know, know what they need to work on. I've asked for specific things and it's nice to know what they have to work on."
The Eagles take the field Friday at 11 a.m. at Dodgertown in Vero Beach.
