TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - On Friday, the Tallahassee Community College baseball team kicks off the 2018 season, and they get to do it at home.
The Eagles are a season removed from an appearance at the State tournament, and open up this year with a three game series against Pasco Hernando.
TCC is a team with a lot of fresh faces, and head coach Mike McLeod said that will be their biggest issue moving forward. New guys means growing pains, but he is confident they will figure it out.
"Hopefully, eventually we'll figure out how to hit. That's always the big question with a lot of new guys you're not sure how they're going to adjust to pitching in the Panhandle Conference and junior college pitching in general," he said. "I do believe we have a nice set of arms. We have some transfers from some larger schools. We have some guys throwing the ball really well. We'll be able to pitch, play defense, we just have to figure out how to swing."
First pitch for game one of their three game series is set for 4:00 on Friday.
