TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Community College softball team locked up a spot in the State Tournament over the weekend. The TCC baseball team was still on the bubble entering Monday's contest with Gulf Coast, with a win key in getting ahead with four games left on the regular season slate.
Four home runs were hit in the game, but it was a wild pitch that gave the Eagles the go ahead run in the bottom of the 8th to seal up the 9-8 win over Gulf Coast, and head coach Mike McLeod said he's happy to start off these final four game strong.
"Well it was big, and our guys knew it and we threw our best two guys out there and Buckler and Arias and we tried to give it away defensively, but I thought those two guys pitched great," he said. "It was a huge win, huge game, we got to try to do it again on Wednesday and then we have to try to take care of Northwest this weekend. We have our work cut out for us, but we're still alive."
The second and final game of the series with Gulf Coast is Wednesday in Panama City. First pitch is at 6:00/ET.
