TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Back in March, the Tallahassee Community College women's basketball team won the program's first National title. As the Eagles gear up to defense that title, head coach Q Bedell warns they're only National Champs until that first loss.
They are hoping that first loss doesn't come for a while, but Bedell said he has a lot of fresh faces to get up to speed.
There are five sophomores on this roster, including a transfer from Florida, and seven freshman. All hit the floor for their first practice on Monday.
Coach noted he's excited, but he knows how big the target on their back is, but pressure to win? He doesn't mind it.
"That gets me, like goosebumps. I get excited!" he laughed when talking about pressure. "For the most part, I don't feel pressure, and I'm not putting any pressure on me, but you know, at the same time, I live for it and I put more pressure on myself than anybody in this world could put on me. At the end of the day, it's not any pressure, you just have to go do your job, and have fun doing it at the same time."
Tallahassee opens preseason action on the road at a tournament in Albany, Georgia this weekend.
