TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - One of the crown jewels of the Florida State recruiting class will not be taking part in spring football practices.

Coach Jimbo Fisher announced Wednesday that the reigning Florida Mr. Football Dalvin Cook tripped and fell going up a set of stairs in the weight room and injured his shoulder when he put his arm out to brace the fall. Cook had surgery and faces three months of rehab after getting out of a sling.

Cook enrolled early to take part in spring practices and get a jump on his freshman year. He was expected to compete for a place in the rotation after Devonta Freeman and James Wilder Jr. declared for the NFL.
