TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Spring practice continued this week for teams across the state of Florida, and the biggest change this week? Teams are finally allowed to practice in pads.
The Florida High Seminoles were hard at work on Monday as they looked to expose their youth to as much football as possible, with head coach Jarrod Hickman going as far to say this is probably the youngest team he's ever head.
The Noles lost several talented players from last year's 6-4 team that narrowly missed the play-offs, including quarterback Isiah Hill and stand-out receiver Karenz Stephens.
"We really just tried to go slow about the process and make sure that we had a good off season in the weight room, tried to get on the guys on board and try to teach them as much as we possibly could," he said Monday. "We had a lot of good things last year, despite the injuries and getting a chance to play a bunch of young guys so we are excited about this year. We have to find more depth and just get one day better."
Florida High is at Chiles for their spring game on May 19th. Kick-off is at 7:00.
