Spring Football Check-in: Rickards Raiders

Posted

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - High school football teams in the Big Bend continue that spring practice grind.

At Rickards, the Raiders are coming off a tough fall. After starting 5-0, they finished 0-5, falling in the first round of the playoffs.

They graduated a talented Senior Class, but head coach Quintin Lewis says don't expect a drop off. This Raider group is talented and ready to prove people wrong.

"I think we're more versatile," said Lewis. "I think last year we had a couple stars. We had about 4 or 5 superstars. This team we have a team, and this team is going to put the best show together every Friday night. They're fired up each and every day. From the time we started working out until now it's a new winning era. Whole new breed and these guys are hungry right now."

Rickards is part of a three team jamboree on May the 18th with Godby and Lincoln at Gene Cox Stadium.
