Spring Football Check-in: North Florida Christian Eagles

Posted

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - It's week two of spring ball for high school football teams in the state of Florida. The North Florida Christian Eagles are back at it after graduating a talented senior class.

NFC reached the second round of the 2A Playoffs last season, and despite losing a lot of play makers, a lot of guys are back.

JD Jerry makes his return after sitting out last year due to injury. He'll slide right in at quarterback after Trey Fisher's departure. Head coach Steve Price notes this team's core is very good, and he's expecting big things from the guys this spring.

"We've had a great off season," he said. "I think especially our seniors are really, really excited to finally get over the hump and see if we can't get into the State Championship. We want everyone to improve over the 20 practices. I think we're going to be young ,we're going to be fast. We're going to be exciting."

The Eagles will travel to Ocala Trinity Catholic for their spring game on May the 18th.
