TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - High school football teams wrap up spring practice this week with spring games.
The Maclay Marauders entered state competition last season after playing Independent, and while they missed out on the playoffs, the Marauders did finish above .500.
Head coach Lance Ramer said he is really happy with the direction of this program, adding the spring has been tremendous and it all goes back to last year.
"Anytime you can win your last game, most importantly for the seniors, send them out the way they're supposed to play, it transcends the off season," he said. "I think kids are interested in playing. We've got guys coming back to the team that took a year off so I feel like it just lends itself to feeling good about yourself and they deserve to feel good about themselves. These kids bust their butt in the classroom, outside the classroom, they deserve all the accolades that come their way."
Maclay will take on Cedar Creek Christian for their spring game at SOS Academy on Friday in Jacksonville.
