TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - It's week three of spring ball for high school football teams in the Big Bend, and the Godby Cougars looking to build off last year's successful 10-2 season.
Despite graduating 30-plus seniors from last year's team, the Cougars do return a lot of big names. Tony Street at running back, while Cortez Andrews and Kyler Laing return on defense.
Head coach Corey Fuller notes they've still got a lot of work to do, but they're practicing hard, and of having guys step up to replace all those graduating seniors? Coach isn't too worried.
"The one big thing about that senior class is that those kids didn't know they could win until we convinced them, and they committed, and they did what we asked them to do" he said. "I think every year it's a different process for each team, but it's a process that leads up to the winning and I think we're good on that part of it."
Godby plays in a three team jamboree on May the 18th with Rickards and Lincoln at Gene Cox Stadium.
