TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - It's week two of spring ball for high school football teams in North Florida, and over at Florida High, Jarrod Hickman is happy with the days his Seminoles have had so far.
The Noles lost eight seniors from last year, but those eight? Playmakers.
This spring, they're looking to establish some depth, and after falling in the State Semifinals last season, this group is ready to go.
"Our program understands what it takes to get there. We've been there a number of times but we want to take that last step," said Hickman. "Getting so close a year ago it's certainly on our minds in everything we do. We have a really good strength with our skilled guys. Bringing back Bryson (Hill) at quarterback makes a big difference after two years. Defensively, we did play a lot of young kids, so I think we'll be better on that side of the ball."
Florida High plays Suwannee for their spring game in Live Oak on May 18th.
