TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Seventy softball players showcased their talents Thursday in Tallahassee as part of the Jacksonville Storm Showcase.
This week, the Storm a travel organization out of Duval County, is hosting a Showcase and a Tournament in Leon County. The Showcase wrapped up Thursday at Messer Park, where the athletes had the chance to work out in front of a dozen college coaches.
"We have fun doing this," said Florida Tech head softball coach Val Silvestrini, who's been helping run the Showcase for several years. "We really enjoy teaching and this for us is a teaching camp and we coach them up and we also get to see what they got so we can recruit as well. A lot of coaches are close friends of mine, so I really enjoy working with them. They do a great job."
The Tournament kicked off Thursday night, and goes through the weekend, featuring 80 teams.
