ATLANTA (AP) - Slumping second baseman Dan Uggla is being left off the Atlanta Braves' roster for the NL division series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Braves announced their roster Wednesday, a day before the series opener.
Outfielder B.J. Upton, who is hitting only .184, is on the roster.
Uggla, a three-time All-Star, has 22 homers but hit only .179 this season. He struggled with vision problems and finally was placed on the disabled list on Aug. 13 so he could have laser eye surgery.
The surgery didn't appear to help. Uggla hit only .122 in 49 at-bats in September and began losing playing time to Elliot Johnson, who is expected to open the division series as the starter.
The Braves' roster also includes infielder Paul Janish, who can play second base.
