Simmons Happy With Start of Spring Practice

Posted

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - It was day number one of spring football practice on the Hill Wednesday.

Florida A&M got after it, and like their neighbors down the street, there's a new regime in town, as Willie Simmons enters his first season at the helm.

FAMU returns quite a few guys from last year's team, and Simmons is confident that with had work, it will all pay off come fall.

"Talent alone doesn't win Championships. It's about buying into the process, every guy focusing on the little things that it takes everyday to be the best player they can be, trusting us as coaches, putting in the extra work," he said on Wednesday. :It'll take a lot of things maybe these guys haven't done in the past to become the Championships caliber team I think we're capable of becoming, but from what I've seen so far, we have a resilient group and it gives me a lot of optimism moving forward with the season."

The first chance to catch the Rattlers in Saturday, April 21st when they host their spring game.
