TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A pair of goals from senior Dagny Brynjarsdottir led No. 2 Florida State to a dominant 4-0 win over St. John's, Monday evening at the Seminole Soccer Complex.
"I thought we came out with a good focus," said head coach Mark Krikorian. "One of the things I warned the team about was that it is easy when you come out and you play against Florida in the big environment that it is easy to get excited to play in those games. But every game is meaningful.
"I think our kids came out from the beginning and imposed themselves pretty good, created some decent chances, and some good goals."
The Noles' four-goal effort matched their highest output of the season so far.
"I think we were patient around the PK box," said Dagny Brynjarsdottir. "We just found the open player who had the best chance to score."
With her two goals tonight, Brynjarsdottir has now scored six goal in five games played this season.
"Dagny is off to a great senior year," added Krikorian. "She is putting herself into very dangerous positions. Fortunately, she is getting very good services and taking her chances very well."
FSU will return to the pitch Sunday, September 14, hosting Stetson at 1:00 p.m.
