TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - For the first time since 1997, Florida State volleyball is 8-0 to start a season.

The No. 7 Noles knocked off Central Arkansas (25-11, 25-18, 25-17) and LSU (19-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-16) in front of a spirited home crowd at Tully Gym in the Four Points By Sheraton Invitational.

"We weren't sure how we were going to react once we hit adversity," FSU head coach Chris Poole said. "We certainly did tonight. LSU played great. They had a great game plan and they played hard. We had some players step up and we had some players that were off and it was good to be in that situation."

Redshirt freshman Milica Kubura led the FSU offense against the Tigers with 15 kills, a new career high.

"It's important for us (to get the win) because we're learning from every match," Kubura said. "We're better than our last match. When we came out and played bad in the first set it motivated us to get better and we did."

"LSU was playing tough all night," said senior libero Katie Mosher. "There were a lot of long points tonight and we didn't always come out on top of those, but it shows a lot of character for our team to be able to come back in and come through."
