TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State softball earned a second top-15 preseason ranking Tuesday, as ESPN.com and USA Softball have the Noles slotted 12th in their preseason poll.
The USA Today/NFCA preseason poll ranked FSU 15th.
"We are ready to go," said head coach Lonni Alameda. "It is great to be recognized nationally in the preseason polls as a top 15 team, but our goal is to be one of the final eight squads in June battling for a national championship.
"We are excited to have the chance to play several ranked teams throughout the season and know that the work we have done in the offseason will prepare us for these challenges."
Florida State will face three top-10 schools in the ESPN.com/USA Softball rankings: Florida (3), Alabama (6), and Nebraska (9). The Noles are the only ACC school in the top 25.
