TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Florida State junior third baseman Courtney Senas and sophomore pitcher Lacey Waldrop have been named Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, announced Tuesday by the conference office.

Senas led Florida State in batting average, hits, runs scored, and RBIs as the Seminoles went 4-0 last week, including a sweep at NC State in the first weekend of conference play. She drove in three runs in a game twice, and hit a home run in three straight games. Senas compiled a career-high four base hits against the Wolfpack on March 9 as part of a 6-for-8 day at the plate in the doubleheader.

The native of Wahiawa, Hawaii, finished the week with a .571 batting average, an on-base percentage of .600, and a slugging percentage of 1.214. She compiled seven RBIs on eight hits, three home runs, and two stolen bases while only striking out once. It is the second weekly award of the season for Senas and also the second of her Seminole career.

Waldrop threw 12.2 innings and held the Wolfpack to just one earned run as she picked up two wins. On Saturday, she came within one out of throwing her second no-hitter of the season while striking out a career-high 12 hitters, including the first nine outs recorded in the game.

On Sunday, the native of Chester, Va., registered her third shutout of the season and reached double digit strikeouts again with 10. Waldrop went 2-0 with a 0.55 ERA for the week while holding opposing hitters to a .093 batting average. Waldrop has shown a greater propensity for striking out the opposition this season, recording three double-digit strikeouts in her 13 starts.

Waldrop has been named ACC Pitcher of the Week three times in her career, including her first this season.
