POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. (WTXL) - Valdosta State ran past No. 12 Winston-Salem State Saturday afternoon 22-17 in a game played at McEachern High School.
The No. 23 Blazers racked up 229 rushing yards in the win, led by 127 from junior running back Austin Scott. VSU improves to 2-0 with the win and the Rams fall to 1-1.
Blazer quarterback Jake Medlock finished 16-of-27 through the air with 162 yards, while adding 76 yards on the ground on 14 carries. Chris Anderson led Valdosta State's receivers with six catches for 76 yards.
The Blazers return home to Bazemore-Hyder Stadium next weekend, hosting No. 17 Delta State Saturday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m.
