TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - This summer, three Tallahassee-Leon Babe Ruth baseball teams won State and made it to Regionals. One team, the 13 and Under group, won their Regional and in turn, earned a bid to the World Series.
Now, the 13's look to win the area's first Babe Ruth World Series crown since 2009. They are hungry, and they have been playing extremely well, winning that Regional title by a score of 23-1.
There's obviously a lot of offense on this squad, and their confidence heading into next week's World Series is sky high.
"You can't wake up everyday and say you won a World Series, no matter what level," said pitcher Noah Gelabert of the chance to win the World Series title. "It'll be amazing if we can go up there and pull it though."
"It hit me the other day actually," added catcher Jaxson West. "I realized we actually had a shot to do this. When we first won it, it did not hit me, it was just kind of like we won it, but now I see the picture and see how close we are to really winning it."
The TLBR 13's leave on Tuesday, with World Series action starting on Thursday in Arkansas.
