TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - When it comes to high school football, 7 on 7 is becoming the way of the world during the summer months. Camps, clinics, and tournaments are held every weekend, and Rickards High School is having one heck of a summer.
After finishing Regional Rummer-up last month, the Raiders are now headed to the Cam Newton 7v7 Championships this weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Head coach Quintin Lewis proud of his team, and said while winning this weekend would be great, it's the future he's focused on.
"In order to be a champion you have to win something," he said. "We have not won anything here. We haven't won a championship yet. You can't win the summer. The experiences we have in these 7 on 7's will carry on to help us play better football in the fall."
