TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- – Florida State freshman Xavier Rathan-Mayes, was named the ACC Co-Rookie of the Week on January 26 for the first time in his career. In the last two games Rathan-Mayes averaged 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 3.0 steals while shooting .512 from the field and .400 from the three point line.
His 35 points against UNC established the Florida State record for points in a game by a freshman, and he became only the fourth player to score 35 or more against North Carolina in the Smith Center.
Rathan-Mayes enters Wednesday’s game against Wake Forest as Florida State’s leader in scoring (13.8 ppg), assists (4.7 apg) and steals (1.3 spg). He has started 17 consecutive games and has scored in double figures in 14 of 19 games.
