TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - For North Florida Christian's Alicia Price, being involved in athletics is just how it's always been.

"I was in the gym when I was two days old," she laughed.

Mom Jodie, who also coaches Alicia in volleyball and basketball, backed up that claim.

"My assistant coach took my game on Tuesday," she said. "She was born on a Tuesday, we were in the gym on Thursday. The rest is history."

The younger Price, a three sport athlete for the Eagles, has always been coach by mom and dad, and she wouldn't want it any other way.

"People always ask me, oh, is it awkward when you get home after a bad practice?" she said. "We never carry out practice into our family relationship. They're not harder on us, but they do expect us to be what they've raised us to be. They expect us to be hard workers and good teammates."

And that's what she exemplifies, be in on the volleyball court, playing basketball, or on the softball diamond.

"You know, I always say my favorite sport is the one that I'm playing at the moment," she laughed.

"As coaches in our family, we know how important being a multi sport athlete is.," said mom. "She's been blessed to be almost injury free. It's all come together and just been a blessing for her."

Mom and dad's influence not just limited to athletics. They're pushing Price in the classroom, and she's got a 4.2 GPA to show for it.

"It's always in the back of their head. They're always like Alicia, you have an 89!" she smiled. "I'm like, I know! I'll get it! I swear!"

That extra push, something this mother - daughter duo will miss in the coming years.

"We've been through two wins seasons and we've been through 25 win seasons," said Price on playing for her mom. "We've been together our whole lives and she's one of my best friends."

"When we entered this season, I tried to not focus on when she's not here, but to focus on when she is here and have a blast doing it," said mom.

Having a blast, since day number two.
