TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State (12-5, 3-2 ACC) returns to the Donald L. Tucker center Tuesday night for a showdown with new conference opponent Notre Dame (11-7, 2-3 ACC).
The matchup will be just the second time in FSU history the Noles have faced the Irish. The first came in the round of 32 of the 2011 NCAA Tournament. The 10-seed Florida State knocked off the two-seed Notre Dame 71-57 at the United Center in Chicago.
Guard Jerian Grant leads the Irish, averaging 19 points per game in the 12 games he's played this year. Three more Notre Dame players average double-figures: Garrick Sherman (14.6), Pat Connaughton (14.1), and Eric Atkins (13.7). The Irish rank 10th in the NCAA, averaging 17.1 assists per game.
Tip-off is scheduled for shortly after 8:00 p.m.
