TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State softball opened the Unconquered Classic with a convincing 8-2 win over Charleston Southern Friday evening at JoAnne Graf Field.
The Noles, now 12-1 and riding a 12-game win streak, were paced at the plate, as they have been all season, by Maddie O'Brien. The junior shortstop went 1-for-3 with four RBIs, including a two-run home run in the first inning.
Freshman Jessica Burroughs (6-0) picked up the win in the circle for FSU, going five innings, while allowing five hits and two runs and striking out five Buccaneer batters. Senior Jessica Nori finished off the game pitching a perfect two innings to earn the save and clinch the win.
The Seminoles play their next game in the Unconquered Classic Saturday, February 22 at 11:30 a.m. against UC Santa Barbara.
