TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The ninth annual Samaritan’s Feet game takes place on Sunday at the Donald L. Tucker Center as Florida State Women’s Basketball hosts Creighton at 2 p.m. The event is the lone FSU Athletics home game of the week.

Head Coach Sue Semrau will coach barefoot in recognition of the Samaritan’s Feet initiative, which is to ensure that every child around the world is not shoeless and guarded from infectious diseases in their feet. On Saturday afternoon, the Seminoles will partake in a Samaritan’s Feet shoe distribution at First Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, helping provide many children with an extra gift for the holiday season.

Sunday’s matchup will be live streamed on the ACC Network Extra, and can always be heard locally on 106.1 FM and via the Seminoles.com Leanplayer.

The Seminoles (9-1) are 6-2 when hosting a Samaritan’s Feet game, having done so since 2009. The Bluejays (4-4) enter Sunday’s non-conference battle on a three-game win streak, including nailing a program-record 18 3-point field goals in an 83-71 win at Wichita State on Dec. 8.

Just a few weeks ago, the Seminoles came off back-to-back meetings with Big Ten opponents Iowa (W, 71-67) and Penn State (W, 87-58). Now FSU is facing consecutive opponents from the BIG EAST, hoping to sweep another

conference as it defeated St. John’s on the road last game, 57-53. Creighton joined the BIG EAST Conference in the 2013-14 academic year.

Redshirt junior forward Kiah Gillespie continues to merit all-conference worthy praise. The Meriden, Conn., native ranks third in the ACC in scoring (17.7 points per game), is tied for third with four 20-point games and is tied for eighth with 8.8 rebounds per game.

Gillespie’s 177 total points this season already surpasses her season high of 173 points scored at Maryland in her freshman year in 2015-16.

FSU and Creighton meet for just the second time in series history. Last season, in what was a homecoming game for Seminole Alumna Chatrice White (Shelby, Neb.), the Seminoles defeated the Bluejays on the road, 92-82, despite an opponent record 17 3-point field goals by Creighton. In that game, both Nicki Ekhomu (10 points) and Nausia Woolfolk (10 points) recorded double-figure scoring performances off the bench.

FSU follows Sunday’s game with its last game before the Holiday break on Thursday, Dec. 20, when it travels to face Milwaukee at 8 p.m. ET.
