CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 14 Florida State (32-16, 14-12) dropped the rubber match at No. 6 Clemson (36-12, 19-8) Monday night, falling 5-4 on a walk-off home run in the ninth inning. Cal Raleigh led the FSU offense with his second-consecutive three-hit game, tying a career high, and reached base in four of five plate appearances. All five of Clemson’s runs were scored via home run.

Cole Sands made his first appearance in three weeks, allowing two runs in four innings. Logan Davidson hit a two-run home run in the third inning to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Sands struck out four batters over 72 pitches.
The Seminoles cut the lead in half on the first two pitches of the fourth inning – Jackson Lueck lined a hard-hit ball to left field, followed by Rhett Aplin’s RBI double. In the fifth inning, FSU scored three unearned runs on a Steven Wells double, a throwing error and a wild pitch on the walk to Raleigh.
Clayton Kwiatkowski pitched three innings, giving up five hits and two runs on Seth Beer’s two-run home run that tied the game at 4-4.
Conor Grady (4-3) retired his first four batters faced in the eighth and ninth innings before Jordan Greene’s walk-off home run. The Tigers took the final two games of the series after FSU won the opener 3-2 in 13 innings Saturday night.
Raleigh was 3-for-4 and finished 8-for-13 against the Tigers over the series, including a pair of home runs in Sunday’s game. Raleigh’s average jumped to .308.
Florida State will face Jacksonville Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. to start an eight-game homestand to end the regular season. FSU hosts Mount St. Mary’s for four games this weekend and will wrap the ACC schedule next weekend against No. 5 NC State.
