Noles Earn No. 2 Seed, Host ACC Tourney Quarterfinal Game

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State enters the ACC Women’s Soccer Tournament as the No. 2 seed following Thursday night’s 2-1 double overtime victory over Notre Dame. Quarterfinal action of the tournament begins Sunday, November 3 at 1:00 p.m. at four campus sites.

The Seminoles will host Duke, who earned the seventh-seed, inside the Seminole Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon. The two schools met back in mid-September as FSU defeated Duke 2-1 for the Seminoles first-ever victory in Durham.

Other Sunday matchups include No. 1 seed Virginia (19-0-0, 13-0-0 ACC) hosting No. 8 Maryland (10-9-0, 6-7-0), No. 4 Virginia Tech (14-3-2, 9-3-1) at home against No. 5 Notre Dame (11-6-1, 7-5-1), and No. 3 North Carolina (16-3-0, 10-3-0) playing host to No. 6 Boston College (10-8-1, 6-6-1).

All of Sunday’s quarterfinal matches will kick-off at 1:00 p.m. The winners advance to WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. for the semifinals which will be played on Friday, November 8 at 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The championship game will be held on Sunday, November 10 at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ESPNU.

Florida State owns an all-time record of 12-15-6 in the ACC Tournament. The Seminoles have played in the championship game six times winning the crown in 2011.

Ticket prices for the quarterfinal round in Tallahassee inside the Seminole Soccer Complex will be $8 for adults and $5 for children (ages 3-18)/students and seniors (age 50 and above), while all ACC students are admitted free with a valid school ID.
