BLACKSBURG, Va. – The No. 19/20-ranked Florida State women’s basketball team will look to rebound from Friday night’s loss to Duke by taking down Virginia Tech for the ninth consecutive time on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum.

The Seminoles haven’t lost to the Hokies since 2006, and haven’t been defeated in Blacksburg since 1989.

Florida State hung close with No. 5/4 Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium earlier in the weekend, but ultimately fell 61-50 to the Blue Devils.

Junior forward Natasha Howard collected her third straight double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds on Friday, while Alexa Deluzio scored 16 points. The Noles made 21 turnovers and shot a season-low 29 percent against the Blue Devils, though.

Earlier this season, Florida State defeated Virginia Tech, 70-54, on Jan. 27 in Tallahassee behind 19 points from senior post Chelsea Davis.

Last year, Florida State jumped out to a 30-4 lead against the Hokies in Blacksburg and never looked back, winning 75-40. Howard had 16 points and 14 rebounds.

There are just three games remaining in the regular season and the Seminoles hold a one-game lead and a the tie-breaker over Miami for the No. 4 spot in the ACC and a first-round bye in the ACC Tournament. The conference tournament will be played from March 7-10 in Greensboro, N.C.
