No. 5 Florida St, No. 3 Clemson features QB duel

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - There's not an enormous difference between Jameis Winston and Tajh Boyd.

At least not to a couple of former NFL executives.

Gil Brandt, former Dallas Cowboys vice president of player personnel, says the redshirt freshman Winston has a slightly stronger arm.

Sam Wyche, former Cincinnati Bengals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach, says Boyd, a senior, has the desired combination of fundamentals and veteran leadership qualities.

Winston is three inches taller at 6-foot-4 and has more of a physical presence in the pocket. Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables describes Winston as Adrian Peterson playing quarterback.

The Heisman Trophy hopefuls will duel in an Atlantic Coast Conference showdown Saturday when No. 5 Florida State travels to No. 3 Clemson.

Brandt says there won't be a better quarterback battle in college this year.
