Nine Seminoles To Participate In Main Draw Of Tallahassee Futures

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-  Florida State men’s tennis team concluded the qualifying draw of the Tallahassee Futures Tournament presented by Visit Tallahassee as associate head coach Ryler DeHeart advanced to Tuesday’s main draw. The 32-year-old defeated Cameron Silverman (USA) 6-4, 7-5 to move on.

DeHeart joins five current players as well as 2016 All-American Benjamin Lock in the main singles draw to begin Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. Redshirt junior Jose Gracia, redshirt junior Lucas Poullain, junior Terrance Whitehurst, sophomore Aziz Dougaz and junior Guy Iradukunda will join DeHeart and Lock in the main draw.

Lock and Gracia will each play their matches at 12:00 p.m. Singles play will continue on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m.

The doubles draw will also begin on Tuesday as freshman Alex Knaff and Poullain take on Robert Galloway/Nathaniel Lammons at 4:00 p.m.

Lock will pair with former Seminole standout Anderson Reed at 6:00 p.m. Also at 6:00, Gracia/Whitehurst will take on Hans Hach/Kaichi Uchida and Dougaz/Iradukunda will face Pirmin Haenle/Lukas Ollert.

There will be spectator seating on courts two and four for the singles and doubles draws.

The finals will take place on December 10 (doubles) and December 11 (singles). All matches will be played at the Indoor Tennis Facility at 2566 Pottsdamer Rd., Tallahassee, Fla., 32310. The event is free to fans.
