National Gymnastics League coming to Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The National Gymnastics League (NGL) is holding one of its five meets of this 2013 season in Tallahassee at Florida State's Tully Gym. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, January 12th, and will begin at 7:15 p.m.

The meet is part of the 2013 Gym Force Classic, an all-day event at Tully Gym hosted by Tallahassee's Gym Force Gymnastics and Cheerleading.

Current athletes set to compete:

Danell Leyva - 2012 Olympic Team Member and Bronze All-around Medalist, 2011 US All-around National Champion, 2011 Parallel Bars Champion

Steven Legendre - 2012 Olympic Team Alternate, 2009, 2010, 2011 World Team Member, Oklahoma Gymnastics Alum

Alex Nadour - 2011 Word Team Member

Glen Ishino - Senior National Team Member, Cal- Berkley Gymnastics Alum

Josh Dixon - Senior National Team Member, Stanford Gymnastics Alum

Jesus Vidal - World Team Member ( Dominican Republic)

Edward Mesa - Senior National Team Member

"The NGL is the first-ever American gymnastics league," says league Director Sean Golden. "By providing a platform of fun, head-to-head competitions, the NGL springboards both athletes and fans into an entertaining mix of serious sport and lively, personal interaction."

"The league has gone great lengths in making the sport more entertaining for a mainstream audience such as adding offensive and defensive components, and a scoring system that is more comprehensible."
