MOULTRIE, Ga. - Colquitt County Special Olympics hosted the local spring games on March 29th beginning with the Opening ceremonies at 9:30 am
Special recognition was given to local athlete Sissy Cooley, as she lit the Special Olympic Caldron at Mack Tharpe Stadium. Sissy won Gold and a Bronze medals at the 2013 World Games in speed skating in February in Soul South Korea.
Nearly 300 thletes from Colquitt County and surrounding counties took part in today's events. The games is one of two Olympics (spring and fall) put on by the local chapter of the Special Olympics every year.
