CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - A person familiar with the situation says Miami center Reggie Johnson had a minor surgical procedure in one of his knees Tuesday and will not play in this weekend's East Regional games.

The person says Johnson did not accompany the Hurricanes to Washington on Tuesday evening but is expected to be able to play in the Final Four if Miami advances. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team had not publicly revealed the injury.

Johnson has appeared in 26 games for Miami this season, starting nine. The 6-foot-10, 292-pound senior is averaging 6.7 points and 4.8 rebounds for Miami (29-6), which plays Marquette (25-8) in the East semifinals on Thursday night in Washington.
