TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The Florida State Men’s Basketball team, which is ranked in the top 15 of virtually every early preseason poll, opens its season on Nov. 6, 2018 against Florida at the Donald L. Tucker Center. The Seminoles enter the game looking to defeat the Gators for the school-record fifth consecutive time – a streak that began in 2014 and one that is currently the longest in their series against Florida.

Season Tickets for the 2018-19 season which includes the Seminoles’ season-opener against Florida, their ACC Big Ten Challenge game against Purdue (Nov. 28) and their nine-game ACC schedule are on sale now. Tickets can be purchased by visiting seminoles.com or by calling the Florida State Ticket office at 1-888-378-6653.

The Seminoles will play 16 homes games (seven non-conference and nine ACC games) at the Donald L. Tucker Center this season. Florida State plays host to seven teams that played in the 2018 NCAA Tournament during the upcoming season.

Florida State’s game against the Gators will serve as the season opener for the Seminoles for just the sixth time in school history and first time since the 2001-02 season. The game will begin Florida State’s home schedule for just the third time since the series began during the 1951-52 season.

“Anytime Florida State plays Florida it’s a big game,” said Seminole Head Coach Leonard Hamilton. “This is a game our players and our fans look forward to each year. To schedule our game against the Gators as the season opener for both teams makes it even more special because it’s the first time fans of both teams will have the chance to see their team play.”

With the Seminoles’ 83-66 win in Gainesville last season Hamilton has won eight games against the Gators – more than any other basketball coach in Florida State history.
