TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - There's still a couple of months until Florida A&M basketball hits the court, but the Rattler men are hard at work this offseason.
They're allowed eight hours of practice a week, and two hours on the court with McCullum. FAMU is still working to approve his assistant coaching hires, so right now, McCullum is still working by himself.
A good thing for the new head coach? FAMU's top two scorers are back in Desmond Williams and Marcus Barham. Craig Bowman will also return for his senior year after originally stating his intentions to transfer this season.
McCullum is excited about the possibilities for this year, and notes while it's challenging, he wouldn't have it any other way.
"It's part of what makes life exciting. It's part of what makes coaching, being involved in athletics, sports and and athletics, it's what makes it exciting," he said. "I'm excited about the newness of it, new conference, figuring out a way to go up against new opponents, new coaches. Of course, the first challenge we have is our non conference schedule. It may be as tough as anybody in the country."
