This week, four Big Bend boys basketball teams traveled to Lakeland to continue their hunt for a State Championship. On Monday, those teams looked to win their respective Final Four games, as a victory gave them the chance to play for a State title Tuesday.
In Class 1A, Madison County looking for some redemption as they fell in the Final Four last year. Cowboys were in control early Monday against Paxton, and they never looked back, beating the Bobcats to punch their ticket to the 1A title game.
"Ever since we got here last night, it's like on the way here on the bus, we had the mindset we have to come and we have to get this bread," said Dilan Lawson. "Our mindset has been on go since we knew we were going to make it here."
"I'm happy of course, but we have one more game. I'm not trying to end up like last year so it's over with now," said Travis Jay. "It's on to the next."
Madison County faces Wildwood in Tuesday's title game, the same team that knocked them out in last year's Final Four.
