Madison County Ready For Physical Contest Against Hawthorne in 1A State Semifinals

Posted

MADISON, Fl. (WTXL) - For the Madison County football team, repeating as 1A State Champions is a very real possibility. This team has lost one game in the last two seasons, so to say this team is experienced would be an accurate assessment.

They'll face a tough fast Hawthorne squad in Friday's State Semifinals, and while head coach Mike Coe says they have their work cut out for them, the Cowboys are just trying to stay focused on themselves.

"We just try to treat it like a game week. I think the more you can stay normal and do the things you always do, the better off you'll be," he said. "The last two weeks they've been really locked in and we have enough older guys on last year's team that played key roles and understood what it takes. They know they time of the year, it's all about fundamentals and not laying the ball on the ground."

Madison County's match-up with Hawthorne kicks at 7:30 at Boot Hill.
