MADISON, Fla. (WTXL) - Geno Hayes returned to his alma mater over the weekend to host his 2nd Annual football camp, bringing with him several other former area football standouts. Several of them, Madison County grads just like Geno, and all happy to give back.
Ironhead Gallon was the lone coach in attendance with college eligibility remaining, as the rising redshirt senior has one more year to put his stamp on the Georgia Southern program, not that he hasn't already.
Gallon helped lead the Eagles to their first bowl win in their first bowl game appearance in school history, a 58-27 victory over Bowling Green.
"Being a part of Georgia Southern history is awesome," he smiled. "We're big on our tradition, we're big on history, and just to be a part of history there is great. I'm ready to get back to work. Right now we're getting to start our summer training and things like that, so I'm just ready to play football."
Gallon finished second on the team last year in tackles.
