TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The spring signing period is in full swing, and on Wednesday at Maclay School in Tallahassee, hitter Melanie Canfield signed a volleyball scholarship with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Canfield finished her senior campaign with 222 kills, 249 digs, and 29 aces. The Eagles are a Division II school in Daytona Beach, and Canfield said she's ready to take her talents to the next level.
"They have really good academics and I really like the coach and the team there," she said. "I'm super excited and it's really close to the beach, I'm just so excited. It's the best day ever!"
Canfield said she plans on studying to be an engineer.
