TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Maclay boys soccer team capped off a great 2015-2016 campaign, falling to eventual State Runner-up Orangewood Christian in the Elite Eight of the 1A State Playoffs.

Kirby Allen was one of half a dozen seniors on that team, and on Friday, Allen signed with Oglethorpe University to continue his career at the next level.

Allen earned 1st Team All-State Honors in his senior season, and he was also chosen to represent North Florida in the state's FACA All-Star Game last month. Allen said Friday that playing in college was always a dream, and that signing was a testament to a lot of hard work.

"I wasn't sure if I was going to have a signing but it's definitely been great," said Allen. "It's a great way to celebrate accomplishments from the last four years, great friends, great coaches came out, everyone's just been really nice, so it's been good."

Allen said he is thinking about majoring in psychology.
