TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Maclay girls soccer team scored the only goal in postseason play against eventual 1A State Champion Saint Johns Country Day. That goal scorer? Julianna Heuchan.
She's hoping to score a lot more goals in college, and now, her destination is official. Heuchan will suit up for Randolph-Macon next season, a Division III college in Virginia.
The midfielder liked the Maclay-like atmosphere at the college, and choosing to become a Yellow Jacket? An easy decision, and a decision she's excited she was able to make.
"I've waited for this day for a really long time," she said Wednesday. "Me and a bunch of people put in a lot of work. It's been a dream of mine for a really long time. I don't know what I'd do in my life without soccer. The fact I don't have to say goodbye for another four years feels really good."
Julianna said she is thinking about majoring in biology, with hopes of one day becoming a physical therapist.
