TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - For high school soccer teams in North Florida, it is Championship week. On Thursday night in Deland, Maclay looks to be celebrating.

The Marauders won last year's Class 1A State Championship, and standing in the way of a repeat? Palmer Trinity, who is 20-2 on the season.

Maclay head boys soccer coach Andy Warner said he likes the way his team is working, and they are excited for the opportunity.

"For our seniors, this is an incredible feat," he said Wednesday at their last training session before making the trip south. "Going back to back in two yeas with a group of young men that as freshman we didn't really have high expectations outside of going to Regional. Not only have these young men grown, but they play consistently, they play competitively, but they're truly team players. That's what I love about this team."

Maclay's match-up with Palmer Trinity is set for a 7:00 kickoff.
