TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Friday night was District Championship night for soccer teams across the Big Bend. A win not only grants bragging rights, but guarantees home field advantage in at least the first round of the postseason.
In Class 4A District 2, the Leon girls' dominance continued with a 2-1 comeback win over Lincoln, their 16th straight over their rival, and a win that granted them their fifth straight District Championship.
The Leon boys captured the 4A-2 title over Chiles, beating the Timberwolves 4-1.
In Class 2A, the Florida High boys were looking for their third straight District Championship, and the 3-1 win over Marianna gave them the District 2 title.
In Class 1A, Maclay handled John Paul II 7-0 to win the District 1 crown.
