TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Maclay boys soccer team looks to take home the Class 1A State Championship on Thursday when they face Lakeland Christian in the title game.
The Maraduers received a fond farewell on Wednesday as they boarded up a bus bound for Deland and that title game.
Head coach Andy Warner notes the support from the community has been great leading up to this point, and now, they just have to finish the job.
"I'm proud of the boys, I'm proud of the program, the support that we have," he said. "We love the game, we have a passion for the game and these boys have just as a group. They set a goal early on in the year, they've worked hard through it, we've had struggles, we've had a lot of ups and downs, but we're really peaking at the right time. One more game!"
The 1A State Championship game kicks off Thursday at 1:00.
